Great American Roofing was founded in 1982 by Steve Frady in Grapevine, Texas. Shortly after finishing college in Southern California, Steve was offered employment by a roofing contractor located in Orange County. During the next two years, he gained experience in roof installations and learned to oversee jobs in progress. In 1981, Steve returned to North Texas to be closer to extended family. Upon returning, he began receiving calls from various contacts to install roofs. After about three months, he realized that he was in the “roofing business” and officially set up a company status.
In the early years, Great American Roofing developed a good relationship with manufacturers of specialty tile and slate products. Because of our willingness to follow the written specifications, we became established in the specialty roofing market.
Over the years, we have received a lot of calls to repair or replace flat roofs. Because these roof systems have a high potential for leaks, training has been obtained to better understand how to deal with these systems. We now use torch applied modified bitumen, “built-up” and singleply systems. We are now certified with five different manufacturers to offer long term “No Dollar Limit” warranties. We have found that attention to details will prevent most call backs on flat roofs.
In the early 1990s, we began working with stone coated steel roofing. We were asked to install these roofs as far away as Houston and Del Rio. During this time, we also began working with standing seam and custom made metal copings.
Our background is very diversified. We have repaired leaks on small homes, and we have installed specialty roofs on multimillion dollar buildings. We have worked with residential, commercial, and government projects all over Texas. We have learned to be lean and flexible to accommodate our customer’s needs.
